Brief summary and personal reflection on the story
This book is about an old man 'Morrie', a young man 'Mitch' and their life's great lesson.
Morrie was a professor in Brandeis university. He was full of his passion about teaching sociology to students and devoted to teaching them until he had Lou Gehrig's disease. It is a brutal disease attacking neurological system. So he couldn't do anything without help and he wasn't able to enjoy dancing that he really liked. However he didn't give up his own life and tried to live happily by participating in a discussion group and meeting many people. His wife 'Charlotte' and 'Connie' who is one of his helpers helped him all times.
One of his disciples, Mitch, hadn't met his professor Morrie since his graduation. He had lived a very busy life. One day, he watched a TV show 'Nightline' and Morrie appeared on the show. He was very surprised at him and his illness. After watching it, he decided to visit him.
By meeting each other, their last lesson was started. They met on Tuesdays in Morrie's house. Their topic was about the life, death, love, family and so on. Morrie said we should build our own culture and he thought relationship among people is so important.
Although he died, Morrie left his precious lessons to Mitch. And through this book, which Mitch wrote after their last class and he called their 'final thesis', everyone around the world got Morrie's teachings. As one of those people, I was also impressed with them.
In spite of a cruel disease, he overcame it and tried to dedicate his time to giving people messages about life.
Although I can do everything without anybody's help, I have given up small things easily and always complain of what is difficult for me to do. But from now on, I will see every moment positively, like Morrie, and always challenge what I used to think difficult.

To Morrie
Morrie, how are you?
I'm pretty good thanks to you. You make me decide to think everything positively and you help me to be confident.
You are a great teacher of everyone who will receive your lessons forever.
I want you to be always happy. Bye!
From Tan-young, who want to be your disciple.
